Travel Tips for First-Time Flyers

Flying for the first time can feel overwhelming—but it doesn’t have to be! With a little preparation, your first flight can be smooth, safe, and even enjoyable.

Before You Fly

  • Check your documents: Ensure your ID or passport is valid and matches your booking name exactly.
  • Arrive early: Get to the airport at least 2 hours before an international flight, 90 minutes for domestic.
  • Download your airline app: Get real-time updates on gate changes or delays.

At the Airport

Follow signs for “Departures.” Check in online if possible to skip the counter. Keep your boarding pass and ID handy for security.

On the Plane

Eat, hydrate, and move your legs occasionally. Use noise-canceling headphones to reduce cabin noise. Most importantly—relax! Millions fly safely every day.
